Lesley LaPierre is a nurse practitioner in adult critical care at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, AB. She began her nursing career in neurosciences and critical care in 1997 and has had extensive experience in acute care including clinical and administrative roles. Her passion for clinical care and evolving nurse practitioner-based models of care inspired her to pursue a Masters of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Alberta. She graduated and started practice in 2009, initially in nephrology and internal medicine and returning to critical care in 2011. She acts as a clinical associate with the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta and frequently presents at Canadian critical care conferences. Pursuits outside of her professional role include exploring Alberta and canoeing her way through Alberta’s waterbodies.
Kim is a newer Nurse Practitioner to the organization. She practices in the Calgary area. She has served on the NPAA board for the past three years as a Director at Large and then as the Treasurer.
Merissa holds a MN-F/AANP degree from Athabasca University. She is a staunch supporter of the Nurse Practitioner role, volunteering with the NPAA as well as serving on the AUNP board. Her current practice is in the geriatric population in Calgary where she resides with her husband and three kids. Though she is a newer practitioner, her drive to forward the profession and fresh ideas are great assets to the board.
